I play light popular music spanning several decades and satisfying a variety of tastes – songs and tunes that many people of most ages recognise from somewhere – from rocking rhythms and wavy waltzes to folksy favourites and perky pop. You will find yourself humming along, tapping your fingers or wiggling your toes as you recall people and places and experiences that have made many melodies particularly memorable for you.
My Keys Alive! brand of music has that effect! It's perfect for enhancing the ambience of any of your special occasions – from wine-tasting evenings and corporate get-togethers to more intimate gatherings of family and friends.
I am a solo pianist based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and memorable background piano music tailored to your special occasion is my passion. I am happy to travel to venues anywhere in the Midlands and further afield. I have my own portable digital piano, so I am not limited to venues that have a piano available, or to playing indoors. Perfect, therefore, for romantic or festive garden settings, for example, as long as there is electricity.
I am very pleased and proud to be associated with fine establishments like Fern Hill Hotel, where I play the piano every Sunday while diners enjoy an excellent and leisurely carvery.
Another cherished venue is Jackie Cameron’s acclaimed School of Food and Wine, and I have also played for functions at the well-known Hartford House, Protea Hotel Hilton and Victoria Country Club.
MiTH (Music in the Hills) is a favourite gig venue, and Art in the Park an annual highlight. I have also played at the Hilton Arts Festival, and most recently at the wonderful, relatively new Summerhill Function Venue near New Hanover.
